Las redes de los hoteles se convierten en wifis inteligentes con Kiwed

La plataforma que permite a los usuarios estar conectados a sus datos de red sin necesidad de disponer de las contraseñas del hotel. Entrevistamos al CEO de Kiwed, Alejandro Espinar.

1. ¿En qué consiste su proyecto?

Kiwed convierte las redes WiFi pública de Hoteles en WiFi inteligente. En primer lugar, el usuario ya no necesita contraseña para conectarse, lo hace con sus redes sociales, del cual el establecimiento obtiene los datos del usuario.

Una vez conectado, el usuario sin necesidad de instalar nada puede hacer una reserva de restaurante, pedir comida al servicio de habitaciones o directamente comida en un restaurante sin que intervengan recursos humanos. A través de una plataforma los Hoteles tienen acceso al análisis de los datos generados, soporte técnico y gestión de redes en la nube.

Además, un market de KiApps (aplicaciones instalables dentro de la misma red: comandas, reservas, etc.), que en conjunto automatiza, potencia las ventas y optimiza la toma de decisiones. Además, reduce el coste interno de cada establecimiento, aumentando la experiencia positiva de los clientes.

2. ¿Cómo nació?

Nace de la inquietud de Alejandro y Alberto, dos jóvenes antiguos compañeros de clase, locos por la tecnología y sobre todo por crear cosas nuevas y divertidas. En separado ya habíamos montado algún proyecto en el sector privado relacionado con redes wifi públicas.

Cansados de aplicar los que ya existía en el sector, empezamos a descubrir el gusanillo del emprendimiento, decidimos abandonar nuestros trabajos y tirarnos de cabeza a emprender Kiwed, que hasta hoy seguimos sufriendo y disfrutando al mismo tiempo.


3. ¿Cómo y por qué decidió acudir al Programa Minerva?

Vimos la noticia en redes sociales y pensamos que el programa encajaba con las necesidades que el proyecto tenía en ese momento, vimos en Minerva un programa serio que apostaba por la innovación tecnológica, con alto porcentaje de éxito en proyectos anteriores y nos decidimos a enviar la solicitud. Después del proceso de selección, conseguimos estar entre los veinte proyectos seleccionado y comenzar esta una nueva aventura.

4. ¿De qué manera ha ayudado este programa a su proyecto?

El Programa Minerva ha cambiado por completo la vida de Kiwed, inyectando una dosis de energía y aceleración que nos está ayudando a crecer cada día. Desde tener un espacio de trabajo a mentorizaciones, que nos ayuda a madurar empresarialmente y entender la realidad del mercado. Destacar que vamos de la mano de un equipo de profesionales que nos aportan tranquilidad y experiencia en un camino que cuanto menos es fácil.


5. ¿Cuál es la situación actual del sector en el que se desarrolla su proyecto?

Actualmente hemos empezado a comercializar el producto y nos hemos encontrado con un escenario distinto al que planeábamos, recibiendo la demanda inesperada del sector retail, operadoras de red y empresas instaladoras de redes WiFi's, que quieren integrar nuestra plataforma.

Lo cual nos está obligando a ampliar el equipo técnico y comercial. Cabe destacar que el sector del análisis de datos está en pleno auge y hemos llegado con muchas ganas, fuerzas e ilusión para crear una nueva forma de conectar cliente y establecimiento que lo cambiará todo.

6. ¿Qué cree que le depara el futuro a su proyecto?

Pensar en futuro es fantasear, como dice Eric Ries en Lean Startup estamos en constante creación, medición y aprendizaje de nuestro producto y del mercado. Pero sí que nuestros objetivos y esfuerzos están centrados en consolidarnos como empresa, y llevar nuestro producto a cuantos clientes sea posible dentro del ámbito nacional.
